So I finally got around to posting stuff again. Here are some friend sketches I was doing for fun. From left to right they are my friends, Jacob, Clement, and Andrea. I planned to do one of each of my posse.

Montreal!

Went to Montreal this past weekend. I just have to say that Old Montreal rocks! the buildings are amazing and there's nothing like sitting on the patios sketching the people doing their thing. That's probably the most interesting thing i found, the people. I found myself just walking around and watching them and listening to them half the time.

So here's my final character design project for the 2nd semester. It's the transformation project I wasn't a fan of the starting character but enjoyed the last one.

Got my laptop back. YAY! Now to posting recent stuff. This one is a digital painting of a ghost buster. I had fun but still have some learning to do.

The Intro

So I gotta start off somewhere. So why not here. I've just finished my first year in the animation program at Seneca. It's living the dream. Though I'm still not that good yet, but it's the a start. I love animation and being in the program has made me appreciate it even more.
The love of cartoons started it out with waking up early to watch my Saturday morning cartoons. I grew up on mostly shows from the 80's and early 90's. I know that they weren't the best of cartoons at the time but I've loved them then and I haven't stopped.
From that then drawing came. I started by copying from Tiny Toon books and TMNT cartoon books. There was this one book about Donatello where he met a cartoonist who had a crystal that made everything he drew come to life. That's my little origin story.
Now I can appreciate the art behind it all - the overlapping actions, the dynamic posing, the way a hand settles when a glove is slowly being pulled off. I watch animations now and I'm seeing things that no one else is seeing, well except for other animators. Animation is my little secret.
That's my lame intro. I finish off now with a where I was with my art. Hopefully I'll start posting new stuff just to see where I am.

The First Post

So this is one of them blog thingys that people do. I've been told to put one up to show some work and now that I have 2 weeks off I guess i will. Let's see if i can keep it updated.

I'll start off with this artwork as my first post. Ladies and gentlemen, The Shocker.
This was something I did for my digital arts class. I kind of did the Spiderman villian the Shocker in a Samuel Flores inspired style. I'm not too strong at colouring so I was kind of happy the way this turned out. But ya I like the drawing, well, except the face. So first post, hopefully more to come. Word.
